string cheese & sushi

Recommended Posts

I each sushi fine. California rolls are 43 cal a piece :) 4-6 pieces fills me up. And as far as string cheese I like Sargento but the Babybel cheese has fewer calories and its fun to open :)

Are you talking calories as in dieting? Or what is tolerated by the band?

Weight Watchers string cheese has 50 calories. I have a hard time with sushi unless I remove the seaweed.

I like the flavor of Babybel light better than sting cheese, and yes I can eat sushi, but YMMV

That's what I like about you B-52, you're so thorough with each inquiry. I would have thought that as a band tolerance question but the fact that a calorie count on the sushi was mentioned it could have been a caloric diet inquiry. Personally speaking, I love sushi but cannot tolerate white rice related to the band.

Don't eat sushi, but had no trouble tolerating string cheese. Now, don't eat it due to lactose intolerance. But, as someone else said, Babybel is good so is Sargento. i don't do low-fat/no fat due to the higher sugar content.

cheese at room temperature tastes so much better that cold cheese, especially with sting cheese and babybel. You could also put it in the microwave for a few seconds.

Fat free, reduced fat, & low fat are foods that should never enter you body (in my humble opinion). Why? Full fat foods are less processed and have less industrially engineered ingredients/chemicals. If you're making smart choices and working with the band, I don't think you should worry about those products.

I just had Sashimi for dinner tonight and it went fine, it easier to chew, high Protein and you avoid the sticky rice. I did have sticky rice on the side, but after 8 pieces of Sashimi, I only ate about 3 tablespoons before I hit my limit. I have eaten Sushi with no problems, but the rice fills you up fast and can cause people problems pretty easily. Kroger has a colby and mozarella combo string cheese that is really good.

????? Question I'm going to be starting mushies and there is sum meal someone suggested as a lazana bowl its cottage cheese Pasta sauce mozzarella and parm is th as t safe any sugestions on any others r is this ok

I used to make something similar when I lost 40# with Atkins. I called it PIM, or, pizza in a mug... Except I used ricotta and not cottage. Mozzarella cheese can be real chewy.... I would wait till the "normal" phase.

I made lasagna cups as part of my post op using small ramekins.

1 cup low fat/fat free cottage cheese

1 cup low fat/fat free ricotta cheese

1 egg beaten

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Mix it all together and divide into sprayed ramekins. It should make about 8 of them. Top with a little bit of your favorite marinara and bake at 350 for about 30 mins.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
