Anybody planning on Dec2013 banding?

Congratulations! I was banded 12/28/12 yup right in the middle of holiday party season it was the best decision time wise I ever made. My attitude was it's now or never and no more excuses. Where are you having your surgery?

I'm at True Results in Richardson. I've been doing a lot of research. I guess that's the nurse in me. In fact I was just on Pinterest pinning meal ideas! Even now I'm constantly aware of everything I'm eating. What it is, how big the bite, how long I chew it, if I think I'll be able to eat it later. I've always been a picky eater so I'm making lists of foods to try that I know will be good for me after but that I really haven't liked in the past, to give them another chance. Lol! I'm really looking forward to starting this process!

Hi Lori, I'm hoping my date is right around there! Trying like crazy to start modifying the way I eat now but it's been difficult. (Gotta get the kids Snacks out of the house lol). Where to you live? I'm in South Florida. Hopefully we can be band buds for support! How are you doing getting ready for your big day? How long are you taking off of work?

I just had to get my psychological and dietician evaluations. I completed the pre-op group seminar, so all I have left is my bloodworm, EKG and chest X-ray 30 days prior to my surgery. My PCP sis my letter of medical necessity and I had to submit my attempts in the last 12 months. Did you have anything similar to do?

The only clearance I have to get is from my PCP. Her only requirement is that I have it done a the hospital oppose to the surgical center and I stay overnight due to my heart murmur and high blood pressure.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
