Can anyone tell me why one would stay 2 nights in the hospital? I noticed thru some ppl's profile that the normal stay in 1 night. BUt others had 2. I was just wondering why 2? Thanks

Most people go home the same day. I stayed overnight because I have mobility issues and they wanted to make sure I could walk and to give me the blood thinner shots. I don't know too many folks who stayed two nights but I would presume it was because of complications or difficulties during surgery.

I have not had my surgery yet, but my doc said I may have to stay over because I have to have a hernia repair. This is pretty common so that may be a reason why.

I've never heard of someone staying 2 nights unless there are complications. I had lapband with plication, so my doc had me stay 1 night instead of going home same day.
