How do those of you banded handle onions? and i mean lots of onions? I am an onion lover. Particularly vidalia onions. I eat half an onion just on my salad. :) Yes, that makes me a tough one to kiss, but I chew a lot of gum after i eat my onions. :) And I love sauteed onions on various things. its great on chicken with a little bit of blue cheese. yum.

Do you find you have trouble with onions? Do they get stuck? Cause I would hate to not be able to eat my onions.:phanvan

Oh, it's so nice to meet another onion freak. Everyone else thinks we're so weird. I would never give up my onions either, and I have no trouble with them. They break down pretty easily when you chew since they're full of Water, so I don't think they should be a problem.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever put an onion on?

i make cheese and onion sandwiches. that is what DH says is the weirdest. thick slices of cheddar on sourdough with fat rings of vidalia onions. vidalias are smaller in size usually, and you can eat a half of one pretty easy. I will also cut them into quarters and serve the wide "onion chips" with other dipping veggies in a veggie platter. But i seem to be the only one who eats them.

I put finely chopped vidalias into just about everything for a kick of sweet flavor. Mac and cheese, Soups, salad, casserole, burgers, corn bread, you neam it, i have prolly tried onions in it or on it.

Oooooo - I love those cheese sandwiches - I usually use thin slices of everything and add cucumbers and pickles sliced bell pepper - the more veggies, the better! Of course - the onions are an important component of MANY of my meals.

No problems with them. Breathe Fire, Baby!!

Oh, you just reminded me of one of my favorite salads. It's just olive oil, a cucumber, chopped onions, and goat cheese.

I've been getting some really beautiful vidalias at the store lately. So delicious.

I got a bag of them just the other day and they were HUGE! I also like a "salsa" salad which is square chopped tomatoes, onions, peppers, cukes, carrots, and chicken. All tossed with some dark balsalmic vig and olive oil. yum.

Oh, I really like that. Another one I used to do was chopped roma tomatoes, feta cheese, olive oil, and....you guessed it.

I have no issues with ice cream, it's the onions that I crave!

i'm hungry for one too. LOL

Strawarts i love tomatoe salads. I usually go for mozzarella rather than feta cause i am not a huge fan of feta, but it is great with the onions.

DH made chili the other night and doubled the amount of onions per my request. He loved it though! And has changed the recipe card to reflect it.

Ooohhh...I had chili last week, too, and I just finished eating it. I put onions in it to cook, and then I put chopped raw onions on top for the crunch.

Whenever a recipe calls for onions, I double or triple it. I mean, who's going to use half an onion and put the rest away? How silly. I do the same with garlic. If there's garlic in the recipe, I use the whole head. None of this nonsense about 2 cloves.

Oh, and I dip onions, too. When I make sandwiches, I have veggies on the side to dip in ranch or blue cheese, and it's always cucumbers, bell peppers, and onions! When I used to eat Bagels, I would do cream cheese, salmon, and lots of onions. Actually, I could still eat that if the bagel was toasted or if I used bagel chips instead. I've been known to eat cream cheese and onions on a cinnamon-raisin bagel, too.

I love onions as well (tic-tac-anyone)LOL!!! Anyway...they don't bother me if they are cut up very small when they are raw. I also eat them just fine when cooked till they are soft.

MMMMM - and keep in mind, kids... Onions (and garlic) are FABULOUS antioxidents - practically miracle foods!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
