Scared I won't have a hernia. EGD on 16th

Recommended Posts

I have the EGD to see if I have a hernia on the 16th. I'm nervous that they will not find one and ny surgery will be cancelled due to cost.

And this pre-op diet is HARD!

I'm going through True Results in Richardson. Any one else going through the same process?

And this pre-op diet is HARD! YES it is...

If I do not have a hernia I can not afford to have the band placed. If I have a hernia the insurance paus for the repair amd the surgeey center. That brings the cost down to a level I can afford.

Fingers crossed for a hernia. How crazy does that sound.

It sounds weird but I understand! I was hoping my BMI was high enough before my evaluation (it was) so I ate whatever I wanted to maintain it. Sounds bad but in the long run the band will help me reduce my BMI...

HI I am north of Fort Worth, just thought I'd introduce myself to a fellow Texan. Glad you had the hernia. :) Good luck with getting banded.

My scope isn't until Sept. 30th.

It'll be here before you know it. It was super easy. No pain afterwards. Worst part was the meds in the IV burnt as it went in, but I was asleep so soon that it wasn't that bad.

Hi PlanoMom. That was the only way I could have my surgery. Hiatial hernia repair and then placed the lapband on. Easy as 1, 2, 3. Good luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
