Recommended Posts

Can I eat clam chowder? Or Black eyed peas? I'm hungry but then I'm not hungry. I can't feel any restriction ! At all... Counting down for this fill !

I highly doubt those things are on your post op diet after only 2 weeks.

What phase are you on? What are your doctor's instructions?

I know '!! Uhhhhh . I'm having a moment ! Let me make a Protein shake !

I know it's hard but stick to your doctor's post op diet. It's so important so you can heal properly.

Just remember, this is temporary. Soon you'll be back on real food and on your way to a healthy life.

You can do this :)

I am just starting my post-op week 2. My instructions say that I can include to my Clear Liquids more creamier Soups, puréed foods. Tonight I puréed some green Beans. It took a little bit to get past the looks and texture...but at this point I will try just about anything new.

Just met a girl in the doctor office where I am now and she said that Muscle Milk is delicious ! So I'll try the chocolate . I ate some green been a and it actually went down without me puréed n it.

I know all of our care varies, but if you are looking for something as a reference, fashionstylist- I could scan the booklet I got my from nutritionist for you. Maybe you could show your doc and make sure they are cool with it? I got something really comprehensive.

My phase 2 go's like this; pureed foods, Baby food consistency foods - nothing you need to chew. Eat Protein first, pureed chicken, scrambled eggs , mash low fat cottage cheese, smooth low cal yogurt, or low cal pudding. Then move onto mild pureed veggies such as carrots, green Beans (avoid gassy veggies) Start taking chewable multi Vitamin and Calcium supplement. Eat 3 to 4 meals per day.Stop eating at first sign of fullness. Do not over eat. Do no not eat and drink together. No fluids half an hour prior to meals, with meals and 1 hour after meals to allow fullness and proper digestion. Continue Phase 2 for ___.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
