Question about weight loss before fill?

Recommended Posts

Hello my fellow banders! I was curious to know if it is normal to be stuck at a weight loss, mine is currently 16 lbs. and hasn't budged for days now. I haven't had my first fill and won't have my first appointment till 07/24/2013. I just want to make sure that this is normal is all. I am currently 1 week and 4 days post op. I am not expecting much weight loss until after the fill, but just curious?

I'm only a week post op but 16 pounds in 11 days seems pretty amazing!

Sounds good to me. I lost fast at first even before first fill. Then it slows down. I am doing the 2 pound bump again. 2 up and same 2 down. This usually goes on for a week or two before I notice a 4 pound drop then the 2 pound bump for a few weeks and then 3 to 4 pounds off. Keep up the good work.

Some people don't really lose any weight before reaching the green zone whereas others do. There are differing factors that contribute, but as long as you follow the rules set forth by your surgical team and monitor your food/water intake and exercise, you will get there.

I remember when I was newly banded and how obsessed I was with my definition of success, but as time has gone on I have settled into a wonderful lifestyle that I feel blessed to have. Don't force it because it will come.

It will do down, stay the same, go up, stay the same. I weigh myself every day, but only count it as a real weigh in once a week. You will have stalls and gains. Just keep following the rules and it will catch up to you!

I lost very little the 1st month until after my fill. 2 lbs a week is a on schedule per my surgeon.

I love this idea. I think its true that our vision of success will change over time. I just had a fill and I have loss less than when I did right after surgery...I just keep telling myself that it will come...patience...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
