Hmmm....which one do you dislike more...humidity or horrendous traffic?

Texas, but I'm probably bias. They do have the lowest unemployment rate in the states. Traffic is a nightmare, but I'm in north Fort Worth. I don't know what it is like near the beaches. Summer's are hot, but we have had some mild winters lately. Has some of the best medical too. I guess you would be needing a bariactric doc?

Florida has the best beaches and warm weather for sure... no state income tax and our employment rate is 2nd highest in the U.S.

I have lived in NC, S FL and now N FL. I love the beaches in S FL, but hate the traffic. I love it here in Jacksonville, beaches are nice, the weather is good and don't mind the traffic. It is a big city with a small town feel. My husband and I am from the Midwest too. Find the job first!

We also loved the mountains in NC, but with jobs the way they are these days I would be more worried about that!

Just wanted to say love NC. I was born in Jacksonville and I have family in Sneadsferry NC. Haven't been back in awhile We we're military so we moved a lot and eventually after retirement got stuck here in TX for the jobs. My husbands in aviation, it's big here. Enjoy it for me. :)

Must say, I love NC. It has always been my dream, to live in FL in winter and NC in summer.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
