dull pain in r. shoulder

i've been experiencing this sort of dull pain in my right shoulder....any reasons as to why this could be happening...it's not super painful, just an annoying droning pain, i am about 5 weeks post op

any things i can do to decrease pain?

sometimes when i take a deep breath it hurts a bit more

Sounds like residual pain from gas during surgery to me. The diaphram gets stretched so much, its often sore for several weeks after surgery. The pain from that area often radiates upward into the shoulder. Very common complaint.

I would suggest a heating pad on the shoulder just under your ribs, mid section. Movement will also help dissipate the gas if there's any lingering in you. Walk or do some stretching. This should go away soon. *hugs*

PS - If it doesn't go away, or it gets worse, call your Dr. ;)
