Body By Vi shake before surgery what about after?

Recommended Posts

I have a week to go before I join the band family :D . I'm drinkin well I've been drinkin Body By Vi for awhile now so I kept on it for my liquid diet as well. The way I make it is in the blender an add ice so it ends up bein a pretty big serving. I know I can't have it the same way after surgery. So what I'm woundering is who else uses this and what has been some ways you have used it after being banded. Thanks

I did the body by vi shakes last summer but didn't set well for me. I am now using powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury (order on line)...amazingly good! I have a few band friends that use Unjury...all successful and happy with the product. It IS designed for weight loss/bariatric surgery patients.

My Dr uses the New Direction shakes for Pre-Op.....tried one....pretty good!

Good luck... Lisa

I am on vi as well, and planned to continue after surgery (Thursday) I was told that since it does not have enough Protein on its own, that I would need to add to it. I have been using it on my pre op diet and adding greek yogurt to it, and it gets it up to 21 grams of protein per serving. Obviously the serving size will diminish, so I am not sure if I will just have to double up on the number of servings or what. I would love to hear from folks using bodyByVi also!!

Just for additional info....

Unjury shakes average 21 grams protein

New Direction averages 26-27 grams protein....they also have MANY different flavors and puddings (like lemon)...I am ordering a bunch of the products for after surgery as well. Flavored waters, capucinos.... all high in Protein

Thought this might help!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
