Starting my diet tomorrow and I'm pretty scared. I've been exercising for the past 4 weeks, but I haven't really changed my eating habits. Is it torture?

I won't sugarcoat it...it's not easy and you will likely be miserable to be around. But as long as you are motivated, you will get through it and before you know it, your surgery date will be upon you. Plus...you will see a nice weight loss before surgery. I lost 17 lbs. during by two week pre-surgical diet.

I haven't done much excering but I started the pre-op diet on June 4th. It is going okay, I am still hungry but not as much. I think the shakes help and each day get easier....My surgery is on June 18th, which is also my birthday, lol...Robin

I'm on day 5 of my liquid diet. The first 2 days were the worst for me. But after that I kinda forgot about food. I feel so much better without all that poison in me so I just try and focus on that rather than whether or not I am hungry.

So glad to hear this. Started my pro op diet today. I still get to eat some food but the hard part is thinking about the next thing I'm going to eat. The anticipation is making me constantly think about the fact that I'm hungry or making me think I'm hungry when I'm not. I'm waiting it out though. So far so good.

For those of you on the shakes, take a look at unsweetened Silk soy (green carton) instead of milk. 1g of sugar and 80 calories in 8 ounces. Don't make a mistake of getting the flavored versions, they load it up with sugar.

I started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday, I still have not ripped off any ones face so I think that is amazing, I have adopted a little trick for when I get hungry but it is not time for me to have another Protein Shake or snack, I purchased no calorie no fat broth in powder form and I add hot Water and take small sips it actually tricks me into feeling full and like I had a meal, other wise I drink lots of water and try to stay super busy, my nook is my best friend at night! I wish you all the best What day is your Surgery? I am June 25th

I'm scheduled for the 24th of this month @ this is my forth day on the Protein diet and really don't feel that hungry I can just have a Protein Shake with Water or milk but if I have it with milk I cant drink milk so I use it with water and ad a little vanilla extract to it to give it more of a flavor

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
