My surgery was Monday and my top incision is the one that hurts the most. It hurts to take a deep breath. Does all of this sound normal?

This is probably the port location, and yes, that takes the longest to heal.

I don't think it's the port one because its all way at the top where my stomach is. Isn't the port off to the side?

Not always! I thought so too but my port is a few inches above my belly button

I wish my surgeon had talked to me after the surgery. I have five small incision sites. The one all the way up at the top hurts and the one above my belly button. That's actually the biggest incision too.

I'm one day post op (surgery was yesterday) I have 4 incisions 3 normal and one for the port. My incisions are pretty sore and my port site hurts the worse but it isn't that bad. My port is located on the left side of my stomach. It hurts when I breathe in too but its pretty normal from what my doctor told me before I left yesterday. I have just had some issues with gas pain around my collarbone/shoulder area but gas-x and walking around fixes me right up!

The port site should be the biggest incision.

Some surgeons do it differently I'm pretty sure. I know someone that has there port on the right instead of the left. It might just be there preference.

Your port is located where the longest incision is... That one hurt me for the longest time as well. I think I stopped feeling pain or a pulling sensation like a month or so after. Stay strong I promise it will get better! Just drink your Protein it helps the healing process

Thanks. I get to drink my Protein Shakes tomorrow and I am tickled to death. Apple juice and broth isn't cutting it.

Oh yea!! I remember those rough days... Don't give into temptation. I did the second week and was scared to death I was going to hurt it after. Just remember it will be worth it. I had my sx in December of 2012 and hit my 40lb lost today!!! I'm so excited and honestly I would go through the process again if I had to

I'm thinking another 60lbs! But i will let my body tell me when to stop. I dint want to get super skinny just healthy. I can't wait and I'm extremely motivated!!

I remember my first couple of weeks after sx I just could understand why I did this to myself but now I'm happy I did!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
