I am a traveling sales person by trade, and today is my first day returning to the road. I am out on a 4 day trip and I am getting my first taste of being banded on the go. It will definitely be a learning curve for me to choose my meals wisely. It was easy at home in a more controlled environment. I live in a rural area with no restaurants so I prepare every meal at home. But now, living in a different hotel room every night, it will be up to me to make the right decision when it comes to ordering at restaurants. :)

I feel you! I'm also a traveling sales girl. I usually do Protein Shakes in the morning. I also try and find a grocery store and a room with a mini fridge. You'll adjust. I had so much bad food out of town. I also thought it didn't count if I wasn't at home, lol. Could be part of the reason I gained so much weight. It's been so eye opening counting calories and watching what I put in my body.

Me too! Not only am I in sales, I am in the food business! I was banded almost three years ago and yes, I did have a learning curve. I carry premixed Protein Shakes, use a small cooler that I refill daily with yogurt, string cheese, healthy crackers and fruit and make sure that I have workout clothes in my suitcase.

If you want excuses, they are always there. If you want to make it work, you will find a way.

Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail! Best of luck to you!!!

Not banded yet (surgery date May 15th), but I will be in pretty much the same boat as everyone else here...traveling about 50-60% of my time. I'm in scientific sales and when I hit the road, it's never by myself, always in combination with my local rep. That means not only restaurant meals, but social restaurant meals. I've already announced that I'm getting banded to my team...couldn't hide it anyway and this way it might hold me a little more accountable. I have 3 trips lined up between now and banding day and hope to practice good choices rather than food funerals :-/

The cooler is a really good idea! Especially since I live in a state (good old New Mexico) with such inconsistent amenities and choices for dining. Luckily I am in a bigger city today and stopped at a Cracker Barrel for some rainbow trout and green Beans. I will definitely plan better on my future endeavors!

some of the nicer convenience stores and supermarkets have some great veggies/fruit premade/premeasured as well as (hot meals)....i think its an pretty easy way to eat....and def use the cooler if you want to prepare ahead of time and have it ready for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
