At first my Hubby was not on board, but now let me tell you he has came full circle! I could not be happier about that. We are self employed so I did tell him no need for him to close down my best friend will take me and call him with updates. I hope your hubby comes around to. You will need him and he will need you. Please let us know how you are doing. I am praying for you and your hubby.

Thank you all for all of the wonderful replies. My surgery went off without a hitch. I had to stay the night because my surgeon does it that way but it went well. I was up and driving the night nurses crazy...LOL. One nurse even said she was gonna buy me some marathon tennis shoes because I had a path worn in the hallway from all the walking. My hubby has made a full circle and I believe his lack of support was due to worry and nothing more. He called me in pre- op and asked me if I wanted him to come to the hospital and I told him no...LOL. Now that I am home, he can't do enough for me and has even started talking about his own need to eat healthier and how this will be good for him too.

I am having a bit of trouble with the gas pain thing but he bought me some gas-X earlier and that seems to help with the discomfort in that area. I'm just taking the healing one day at a time. Supposed to go back to work on Sunday night ( I work midnights) but I think I will take an extra day on that.

I love this site and all of the help it offers. It really helps that most everyone is or has gone thru the same things and are so kind and willing to offer advice. Thanks bunches. :)

I just knew your Hubby would come through for you. Most of them just do not want us to know how they worry about us. I am set for May 3 so please keep us updated. I am happy to know you are doing ok.

Maybe he was scared about you having to have elective surgery... and that was his way of showing his fear? Now that you have had the surgery, his fears are gone and he can be supportive and show his true emotions :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
