You poor thing, those shakes had the same effect on me too, I tolerated them for a week then started using the Protein bars and the Soups, not sure what brand you're drinking but I did Optifast, the bars were nice and the chicken Soup was tolerable, I had to do it for a month and managed to loose 22 pounds.

I tried the different flavored essences and even blending berries into the vanilla one but they still made me sick.

At GNC they suggested adding a banana to the shakes to help with flavor or my BF's doctor suggested to get the plain Protein powder and add it to Gatorade. Now he is having hydration issues so he told him to use the regular Gatorade but the G2 is low calorie and low in all the bad stuff, and I'm sure you can add it to other beverages that you like. v8 light? v8 smoothie light? diet drinks? I like the Vitamin Water XXX zero and Propel Zero (grape). again good luck, you just have to figure out what works for you.

I think the company Bariatric Choice will send you one sample of their products.

I just realized that the Protein is what is nauseating me. Not just the shake but I drank a portion of a high protein whey bottle drink 42 gms in 5or 6oz bottle. I drank that over a 2 day period. I have been drinking the same protein mix for the past six months, just banded 3/22/13. It did bother me a tiny bit before but not like it is now. I guess I will sip slower.

I mix mine with Water maybe you are having an intolerance to milk if you are mixing with that. Just an idea :)

Try switching to soy if you can and see if there's a difference.

Thanks everyone today was a little bit better and I am hoping that it continues to get better. I did get some coffee extract to add to my vanilla shakes to mix it up a bit :) I am still having a really hard time though. Its not the nausea now it is all in my head! I just can't imagine not eating for another two weeks!! I am not hungry but I keep wanting to eat lol. Just keep saying to myself "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" Really hope I can keep it up

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
