I banded 3/21 and been in the liquid diet. I am so hungry. Felt better after the Protein Shake. What can I do to alleviate this?

I agree with Missy. Drink lots of Water, sf Jello ice pops and do things to take your mind off it. For example, polish your nails, knit, crochet, etc

Good luck

Keep yourself occupied. That way the head being idle won't pretend it is hungry! You have come this far. You can do it!

Thank you everyone. I'm on the third day so I will introduce the Jello to my diet. That should help.

Can someone tell me if butternut squash soup/bisque is considered a full liquid? I'm only on day one of full liquids, and I'm already disgusted with cream of chicken and mushroom Soup. I picked up the butternut squash soup (no solids in it), but then thought that maybe it's not acceptable.

I was on liquids about 2 weeks ago because my band tightened on its own due to stress and I decided to get creative with the liquid diet. One day I bought some won ton Soup from Pei Wei and blended it in my vitamixer, it was amazing. Also, look up some low-calorie smoothie recipes. coffee helps too, the caffeine curbs your appetite. I also worked with unsweet almond milk, low fat soymilk and unsweet coconut milk for smoothies as well. Remember, a lot of what you are feeing is mental, you just went through a big change and your body is barely adjusting. Stay positive, focused and busy but also remember that you are changing your lifestlye so even though you will eat differently, the same habits will still want to take over. I know you will do great! :)

Another post earlier recommended almond milk. If you find that regular milk is giving you gas pains (as it seemed to do for me), you might give that a shot.

Highly recommend staying true to the liquids as long as you can stand it. I was supposed to be on Clear Liquids for two weeks, but with the 2 week pre-op liquid diet, just didn't have the will power to go that long. I made it 8 days post op before caving and going to mushies.

Hang in there!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
