If you weren't nervous about surgery, there would be something wrong with you.lol

We've all been there and done that.

Try to think only of the future you in smaller clothes, moving easier and enjoying your new life.

Remember everyone in the OR are professiinals, there to keep you safe.

BTW- from OR to recovery room seems like a split second.

Thoughts & prayers for great success. Keep us posted and follow your Drs orders to a T.

I so nervous....I have to go in by 8:30 am and the dr said I will be in the OR by10am

Me too.... I have to be at the hospital at 9am on Monday; surgery at 11am. I have periods of complete calm, with anxious spurts of panic. I just want to be on the other side already.

The best of luck to you!

My anesthesiologist put me at complete ease when he said I put my life at greater risk getting in my car every morning than having something happen during this surgery. It will be fine. I was super nervous too. You will get through it.......it will be great.

Congrats on your decision!

I'm scheduled for Tuesday morning and paranoid because I've had a low grade fever for 3 days. Stressing myself out!

Aside from nervous and anxious, do you feel okay? If you are getting the flu.....something along those lines, you should tell your doctor. They will hold off on the surgery, but it's to protect YOU. If the fever is from nerves, a couple of Tylenol might help. I would call your doctor and let him/her know what's going on.

Yeah - I totally get the extreme stress and nerves! I had to take a Xanax the other night, just to neutralize myself :P

Yep... nervous is normal, but it will be over before you know it. Try not to stress too much. All will be well!

Everything should go smoothly, I was out and woke before I knew what happened. They fixed a hernia too. It was actually a pretty good experience for me.

Let us know how you are doing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
