Alaska - new to forum...

Hi, I am in Anchorage, Alaska. Banded in Houston, Texas by Dr. Spiegel on Dec 21, 2005. I am not a part of a support group and this is my first time on any sort of internet forum. Dr. Speigel has been great! I am doing well and am about 55 lbs down.

The reason I am searching online....I am sort of concerned about hair loss. I have noticed lately that I am cleaning out my brush more often. Is the hair loss normal?

Thanks for any help. I am looking forward to reading and being connected.

Hi Lar,

Welcome to LBT! Yes, you'll find that hair loss is not at all uncommon. It seems to follow about four or five months after surgery, and isn't always related to weight loss. The same thing happened to me both times I gave birth, and again with banding. But it's not too bad, and starts to grow back after a couple of months. No one has ever gone bald. :)

Contratulations on your banding and your great weight loss!
