The not knowing was driving me nuts so I just rescheduled for 3 weeks from now. My surgeon told me to go off the pre-op diet for a week so I made some less than steller food choices after that (opting for things I won't be able to have while on the recovery diet) but still managed to stay under my calorie goal at least. I live as close as any of the hotels the real issue is the poorly conceived snow clearance plan for our city.

The good news is I just got called and my Surgery has been rescheduled to the 28th. Hopefully 2 days off my pre-op diet out of 21 won't have done too much damage.

Over a foot accumulation with 3 ft drifts on our road. They didn't clear our road until early this morning.

I am going nuts right now. I'm all ready for surgery on Thursday and now a snowpocalypse is looming for the 18 hrs before and after. After a winter with minimal snow apparently it's all gonna dump on my town just in time to interfere with getting to and from the hospital. I've already called to make sure it wouldn't cost extra to postpone but it will be a nightmare to carve alternate recovery time from my work schedule. I'm just filled with impotent rage right now it's as if the universe is saying "I don't care how ready you are I am still fully prepared to stop you from moving forward"

I know it's silly and I need to just roll with whatever happens but I needed to vent.

True Mother Nature can change. I am in boston and our foot is now 2". Well as if tonight. Good luck with your surgery

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
