OMG there is a space between my legs...

Recommended Posts

One of my co workers took this pic last week at my birthday celebration... as you see they found me the smallest cake in the world. ;) But when I looked at the picture I noticed there really is a space between my legs which I have seen before but seeing it in a casual pic is pretty eye opening.

I know I have lost alot of weight... but as crazy as it sounds... sometimes I cannot wrap my head around it and still feel like the biggest girl in the room. I am trying hard to think like a thin person and I am not looking for sympathy so if you think I should shut up and pound sand I get that.

At 5'9" and 153 lbs, wearing a size 10 shoe.... I am not petite... and I never will be....I guess maybe that is what I need to start accepting it. I am curious if any other tall galls dealt with this body image issue?

Girl!

You look AMAZING! I get the body image thing, I do. You have accomplished so much and you are so much healthier than before. YOu are certainly a wonderful role model for many of us girls who have begun this journey. I know you are one of mine!

Keep up the great work!

That is fantastic S. You look amazing! Yeah it is probably so hard thinking now you are just one of the "normal" size people in the room. It will probably take some time to get used 2.

223 pounds is truly an amazing accomplishment you have attained!! ;)

HAPPY 53 BIRTHDAY!! ENJOY IT.

(as far as body dysmorphia, I suffer from the opposite, lol. Unless I look in the mirror or pass a mirror, I think I am thin, crazy right?)

Beautiful pic, Floridays. I am right there with you. 5' 10", size 10 shoes, 171 lbs. I will never be petite. I am new at the maintenance myself and learning to think like a skinny person is difficult. I hope over time I get better at it.

Happy belated birthday, girlfriend!

I noticed that gap a few months ago, and now when I am sitting, I keep looking at it. The head takes a while as you know, but you look fabulous lady! I am 5'9" as well so I know the big feeling all to well. Congratulations and happy belated birthday!

Happy Belated Birthday! Legs not touching is the best feeling. I am almost there. I am not very tall, 5'5 1/2" but my feet beat you all, size 12. It sucks!

You look wonderful and seeing your before and after makes me want this more than ever. Thank you again for showing your pictures.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
