Curious About Band Size & Slipped Band

Recommended Posts

I got my first band in march of 2006 and i think but am not sure that it started slipping in december of 2006. Final blockage in november 2007. I had an immediate revision. I did not do like many people and have it taken out and reinstalled later. They just put in in higher

My physician said that the new 11cc band was more flexible then the 4 cc band? Im not quite sure what he meant by that. I dont understand the whole thing but it seems to me that at 320 lbs you would need the more flexible band then at 170 lbs.I would have just liked to have some light shed on the subject. Are they just not using the 4 cc band anymore? Or maybe they changed it to a 11 cc band because of the first complication or do you think its because of the weight loss to begin with that he chose the 11 cc over the 4 cc?

I have the 4cc band and it slipped within the first 8 months. Dont really know for sure, but heard a rumor (will only call it a rumor till I know for sure - till then it must remain a rumor) that they dont use a specific type of band anymore (dont know the make and model) because it tends to slip with the first 6-8 months if it is going to slip at all. Again - this is heresay that I heard someone in my docs office talking about. If anyone else has heard anything similair I would love to know if its true - becaue I still have that band in me - and am scared of it happening again. Hearing that most of your bands were the same size makes me even more afraid.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
