Tomorrow is the day

Recommended Posts

Tis the night before banding.... I'll stop right there. Tomorrow is the day, and I feel numb. It is as if it is surreal. I cannot believe I am taking such a big step for myself. Can I do it? Am I worth it? What if there are complications? Too many questions in my head and not enough emotion. Well, I've come this far, 17 lbs pre-op. Please let everything go smooth with no gas pains! I also pray I don't have an anxiety attach on the table!

You are so worth it!!! Don't worry, they give you meds that make you feel so good and then you couldn't care less what they do to you. Then you wake up and it's all over!

You're in my thoughts and prayers! Everyone that goes through this experiences the same anxiety, so you are not alone.

Just think 1wk from now, you will be banded and feeling pretty good. You will be a success if you follow your Drs orders. If you really want this to work, you will make it work.

You are worth it, you can do it and your future is going to be awesome.

Try to think of the prize, not the "what if's".

Best Wishes

I felt the exact same way the night before. I suffer from panic attacks anyway so I was so worried I would have one, but they give you meds that work wonders. The 2 or 3 days after I had questioned my decision also.......could I have just tried ONE more thing to lose weight, was surgery really the way to go, what was i thinking....day 4 I felt much better and I again had my eye on the prize. I know why I did this and I am worth it. You ARE worth it, you WILL get through it, and things will only get better from here. I wish you the best of luck!

I was banded today. Surgery went fine. I was very weepy afterwards. I'm having pain but not a lot of it due to gas. Sleepy time, who knows I might even sleep walk....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
