I can eat pizza, but have to be very careful with anything other than thin crust. Only 1 piece is all I have the patience to chew!

I still eat pizza. Not as much as I used to. I don't like to think of foods as taboo otherwise I obsess over them. Moderation is the key for me! When I don't put things on the "naughty list" and I know if I want them I have to work them into my daily calorie total it doesn't appeal to me as much! My weakness is chocolate! Now instead of eating a whole regular size Hershey bar I eat 1 mini size bar! I still get my fix, however, I didn't just blow all my calories for the day! I found that my pizza urge be curbed by baking a chicken breast, melting low fat mozzarella cheese and putting a little spaghetti sauce on top, then I sauté onions, green peppers, and mushrooms in a little olive oil and put that on top of the chicken. My kids and husband love it to! Good luck on your journey!

I like this idea! How about pounding the chicken thin, maybe even crusting it lightly with cornmeal.. got my thinking cap on!

I LOVE all the ideas, thank you! I do not have a Marcos pizza by me. I live in the south side of Chicago, Home of the ORIGINAL AURELIO's pizza in Homewood. I have the BEST pizza by me and have always been spoiled. I now will make my own a treat myself to a slice every once in a while of my fav.

@soon2bsmall-I don't know how you did that! Showed GREAT willpower. I told my family NO pizza until I can have my own! That will be one of my first meals when I am allowed!! :)

@lauri- The chicken idea sounds fab! I love all those ingredients! I will be trying that as well :) COME ON REAL food AGAIN!! lol.

South Side! That's where I was born and raised. My brother still lives in Hegewisch but I migrated to the burbs. Aurelio's was all the rage along with Doreen's and Bob & Jacks which were in Hegewisch and on the East Side. I struggled for YEARS trying to find decent pizza and other foods in the burbs. Nothing like the South Side!

Unfortunately Bob & Jacks burned down. :-(. But Doreen's is still up and kicking! Once a South Sider always a South Sider!

pizza was my all time favorite before being banded and believe it or not ive only had it twice since being banded (thin crust) its too annoying to chew so much so my craving for it has slowly went away

I had fill done last Wednesday and my doc said no solids until Monday. My kids wanted pizza last night. I was amazed how easily I passed it up, primarily because I knew I'd be up chucking (excuse the French) shortly because I am extremely tight right now (can still only get down liquids). When I am able to eat pizza though I can do thin crust cheese only is best. I find that I can eat easier and more which isn't a good thing standing up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
