WARNING::: Girl Scout Cookie Time ;-(

Recommended Posts

So, they came to the door and my wife bought a box of samoas and a box of thin mints. I love samoas and several others but the thin mints are awful. I already ate 1/2 box of the samoas.

I'll be visiting the grocery store during the school days to avoid the little tykes stands of processed bleached flour, refined sugar with many other unsavory ingredients.

I used to buy a box or two and they would send them to the troops. But, last year not many Moms wanted to do that?

So, take my advice and grocery shop while they're in school or face the temptation but mostly, those cute little faces in their little uniforms begging for your money?

tmf

Well they stand in front of the grocery store here in florida because its not safe to go door to door so I will avoid the grocery store for the next month. Should lose a few pounds. Yes give your wife the other half of the box. lol

Oh yeah I already saw them at the grocery store here. They were parked over by the exit door so I exited through the IN door. I had to stay away from those temptresses and their d*mned delicious Cookies or I'd have been victim to their sweet siren call for sure!!

My niece is now a full fledged Girl Scout. I did buy a bunch of Cookies from her but I will be taking them to work to give them away. Fortunately since surgery nothing sweet tastes good. I'm all about the salty savory foods now.

Every year BOTH my graddaughters sell the Girl Scout Cookies. I buy, but send them all to the troops. These boxes count the same a ones you keep, do not know why mothers would care?

I think ones bought for the troops do not count toward the local groups "numbers".

A co-worker approached me the other day selling for his daughter. I simply stared at him and said, "you know I just had weight loss surgery and as of today I have lost 30 pounds, and you are trying to sell me Girl Scout Cookies? " The conversation ended there.

I am a Girl Scout leader and a lap band patient. I don't know why any moms/leaders would have a problem with you buying boxes for the military (known as Gift of Caring) the girl scout troop still gets the same credit/proceeds as it would if you purchased a box for yourself. I encourage this option a lot because unlike purchasing a box and sending it to someone you know, with the gift of caring you don't have to worry about shipping or the Cookies calling your name while they're waiting to be shipped :) And the girls still make $ off your purchase so everyone wins

Did u ask if they had any that we're sugar free or low in Calories or high in Protein I love peanutbutter Cookies or the coconut ones but I know it's a no no for me so I try to keep frozen yougurt & nuts around so I can get my sweet & salty I mean either sugar free or non fat frozen yougurt cause then I think it's Ice cream and I can have some fruit & nuts with it yumm so good but I don't think I will buy any girl scout cookies of course if I did I would just say to the hose ther's cookies and they would be gone in 60 seconds so I wouldn't have any trouble cause I wouldn't get any lol like most sweets in my house Oh did I mention I have teen age boys.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
