Just threw up-4 days post op clear liquid diet-Advice please!

So I just threw up and I am only 4 days post op. I have been sipping water all day. And believe me it's sipping! No gulps here. Is this normal?

Are you taking pain meds? Sometimes these make you nauseous. If you aren't ask your Dr, for something for nausea! Vomiting right now is not good. If it continues, go to ER!

I stopped taking pain meds because they were making me nauseous. I called today because I still felt pukey and they said I was probably dehydrated. i finally started to feel better but started having these spasms in my stomach. It was too much and I puked. I will def go to the ER if it doesn't stop! Thanks! These forums can definitely make you a hypochondriac!

You need to call your surgeon immediately. If you can't reach him, go to the ER. Either way, you need to get an anti-nausea med immediately. Your stomach has been sutured and vomiting this soon after surgery is extremely dangerous.

I was banded 1/17 and the same thing happened to me 2 days post op. My surgeon sent me to the hospital where I stayed overnight and got IV fluids and nausea meds. I know it's scary but you will be ok.
