feb 5 will be banded with gastric hernia repair

Recommended Posts

started my pre op diet a day early already I hate the taste of my doctors prescribed bariactric advantage chocolate mess. Yuck adkins tastes better but I can handle it I think. It will all be worth it in the end. I am nervous but only cause any surgery scares me. I can't wait until I am able to run after my kids and be able to walk without pain. Goodluck to all being banded this month Feb 5 can't wait!

I'm on day 5 of my pre op diet, and at first I couldn't STAND my shakes. For some reason they taste much better now.

Surgery scares me too, I'm more nervous about that part than I am living with the band. I just want the surgery over with.

I'm going Feb 4, and I'm a little nervous about surgery because my old band (broken) is being removed and a new one put in. I'm nervous because my tube is disconnected and has been 'free floating' in my abdomen and causing me immense pain since April (I was 4 mo pregnant and they couldn't do anything about it). I'm wondering if there will be adhesions...is the tube stuck to my intestines or abs? Could there be complications? I'm not nervous about the banding, I'm excited. But I've been through it before...it was a fast surgery and the wounds didn't hurt nearly as much as the shoulder pain :)

Hey girls, sorry if this is getting annoying, but I did create a Feb 2013 group...please feel free to join! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/groups/show/124-february-2013-bandsters/

Kathy - I had to use Bariatric Advantage too but I was allowed to add frozen or fresh fruit or Peanut Butter and even some nuts to it. I liked the chocolate blended with frozen strawberries. Not sure if you are allowed to do this but if yea I highly suggest you try it. Makes them more filling and much tastier!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
