I was extremely grumpy but as the few pounds came off, the grumpiness seemed to just disappear (and the fact I got used to not having the food I was used to). Hang in there.

im pretty sure thats normal because your body kinda goes into shock i think because your not used to liquid diets. I was the same way and like daisychains said it will get better.

HELL YES!!!! No more eating my favorite crap really pissed my body off! I think my body was rebelling, screaming DON'T DO THIS! And during that time I think my husband and kids would have agreed with my body. I was so cranky and irritable I think if my husband could have ran a chocolate I.V. In my arm he would have! It goes away once your body detoxes from crap! LOL...good luck and God Bless the people around you during this time! LOL

I'm on Day 3 of a 14-day pre-op. I was hell on wheels for the first two, and this morning I woke up feeling on top of the world. I hope it sticks. I have a friend coming to stay with me this weekend and I don't want him running for the hills. Good luck! We're all gonna make it!

Hah, my first time around I cried and had tantrums, screaming in my car alone going "IF I COULD DO THIS I WOULDN'T NEED THE BAND!" hahaha. and I only had to do 7 days.

I start my pre op diet in 10 days. It's hard not "getting the pizza in while I can" but I can't seem to help myself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
