I have lost 47 lbs since Aug 2012 and my lower stumach is now hanging and touching the skin below and I get these painful red pimple type bumps. They are very tendor and inflamed. When I open it up and push it is cremy white/gray stuff that comes out then I clean it tand cover it and it heals nicely. Anyone else have this? anyway to provent it? anything to use on it so I dont have to open it up? and does this make it medial nessary for a Tummy Tuck in the future? lol

Sounds like you have a good case for a Tummy Tuck covered by insurance to me. Kind of wish I did ! But, would not want to deal with what you have had to do. You are getting close to your goal, you may wan to talk to someone about a tummy tuck this summer! Others are knowedgeable, not me! I wish you luck tho' Karen

Ouch!!! I never had this problem but a friend of mine did. Her lap band was covered by insurance and so was her Tummy Tuck. She had the same problem you are having so they considered it a medical procedure instead of a cosmetic procedure. Definitely check into it! You shouldn't have to suffer with that. You are doing so great you don't deserve to be having to deal with this problem. I hope someone can give you advise to help you out!

It definitely does make an abdominalplasty a medical necessity. They may not cover a full Tummy Tuck but they likely will cover to have the excess skin removed.

Go to your family doctor to have it documented ASAP. Most want 6 months of documented medical treatment before they'll approve it. Plus, your doctor can give you creams to ease the symptoms and help prevent it.

I had something similar happen to me before being banded, I tried to control it with over the counter medication you use for acne but it didn't work. It got to the point I had to embarrassingly go to my doctor and get something for it. He gave be a medication called vibratab which I had to take for five weeks and it cleared it up. It's probably an infection you've got that will need something orally to help. You'll also need to keep the area very clean, like a shower in the am and one at night and keep it dry in that area through the day. You can use an antibacterial powder to help keep it dry.

Get on top if it right away otherwise it will spread to other pores and hair follicles, not fun!

This is going to sound gross.. But .. Try athletes foot spray on it. It works. Trust me. Burns at first..but soon It sincerely helps.

Every time you shower, wash it well with soap and Water. And, this is very important, dry the area well. It's important to keep the area dry.

These are tricks I found online and they really, really helped :).

I know exactly what you are talking about. I did a lot of research and found that athletes foot spray (like Lotrimin) is the trick. At the first sign of inflammation, wash the area and DRY it as thoroughly as possible. Once dry, spray the Lotrimin on it. It might burn for 10 seconds or so..but sweet relief and healing will follow. Continue doing it daily until it leaves..although it often only takes 1-2 times for it to work for me.

And to prevent it..wash the area with soap every time you shower and DRY it every time you get out. It's the moisture which causes the inflammation and resulting icky stuff. I read it is hidden yeast from being in a hot moist area. That is why it is so important to make sure you dry thoroughly.

Hope this helps!!!!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
