I'm from Long Island and was banded in August 2010 at NYU. Just recently underwent plastic surgery' date=' a month ago tomorrow, to remove excess skin on my tummy and arms.[/quote']

Hi. I'm 33 was banded in 2009 had two revision and finally the band taken out this past Wednesday. Had so many complications but lost a lot of weight from 255 lbs went down to 125 from size 24 to size 2-4 at one point I was a 0 but i looked bad.....MY journey was not healthy at all. With empty band I kept vomiting couldn't eat sometimes drink. Over years I have developed anemia. Ultimately I think my body was fighting the band. I do have have loose skin on my stomach and I hate it. My arms are a like flabby also. I'm in queens ny. Was curious how was the tt experience and where did you get it done. Thx for all the info. Hi Sylvia. My tt and arm lift was done by Dr. Thomas Sterry. I would highly recommend him - he is very personable and he takes the time to make sure you know everything before you go into surgery. He even stayed with me and rubbed my arm as I was being put under for my surgery, which was very calming. Overall, it wasn't too bad of an experience. I am 4 months post op and just about all the swelling is down. The arm scars are a little annoying, but I know that they should fade over time. I am very happy with the results. If you want to know more, please feel free to ask.

Hi Mary. Welcome to the site. I don't want to discourage you in anyway, but I did want to let you know that I've known a lot of individuals who were banded at north shore, who either had problems with the band, or had to have their band removed. I was banded at NYU in 2010 and I've been told that a lot of patients from north shore will have the surgery, then switch to nyu for follow up appointments. Make sure that when you get the surgery that you go for follow-ups and adjustments. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help! Good luck!

Hi Qtjan5. Dr. Ren did my surgery in January. I've been thinking that once I get to or near goal, I'd like to have cosmetic surgery as well. My tummy, thighs, and boobies will all need a little help. Is Dr. Sterry at NYU as well or does he work out of another hospital in the city? I'd like to keep his name for future reference. I'm down 54 lbs. but need to lose at least another 50 before considering cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Sterry is out of Mount Sinai, however, he does a lot of his surgeries at a surgical center on the upper east side. He is located on Park Avenue, at 79th street. Dr. Ren and Tammy (in the office at NYU) both recommended him. Keep up the good work!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
