Starting over.... Again

The head hunger is our biggest challenge, if only we could band our heads! I eat when I'm bored so I try to stay busy. I find it hard to just sit down and watch TV I have to be doing something else too. TV is boring to me and I start thinking "what can I eat?" and that leads to trouble. So I get my tablet out and get on line (like now) or I do crafts, puzzles, anything to stay busy and not think food.< /p>

Love your hubby's rationalization on the DQ shake.< /p>

Yes! Evenings are the hardest for sure! After I put my son to bed at night...what else is there to do but eat!? I'm working through it though! I need to start going and jumping on the treadmill...

It's sad that Cookies and ice cream go down easier than chicken and vegetables!!

Love it! Wouldn't it be funny if it were the opposite way around?! Haha! :)

Hey folks! I'm new to this thread. I've began my re-dedication to my band about 3 month ago after much frustration. I was banded in Nov. 08. 2009 and the beginning of 2010 was great. I slowed all the way down in 2011. I never lost more than 55 pounds, but I was looking and feeling great. My mom took ill in 2012, and later died, in June. It took me til Nov. To have a desire to really loose weight. I had started working out, but I don't think that the dedication was really there. Rather than trying to eat less of the junk, I want to be grateful for whatever food that's health and I can process. I began making veggie/fruit smoothies and it seems that my band has natural tighten. I'm so grateful. Especially right now, cause I'm not working and can't afford to pay $100 for an adjustment. I'm just trying to stay the course but its hard. I'm still struggling with the aftermath of my mother's death, and I'm in this long-distance relationship. I feel so lost sometimes and its so easy to stop and eat.

You should try to have more meat at night. Like a nice piece of chicken and a salad or veggies. I had a taco salad at 7p, I use 0 calorie greek yogurt instead of sour cream and I'm super full.

I didn't have the taco either. Just the lettuce, cheese, and salsa

Do you mean 0% fat greek yogurt? I've never heard of a greek yogurt that doesn't have calories.

I think coming to this site at night helps me! Reading people's stories inspire me. I don't compare, I just try to enlighten myself. I also take the time at night to write in my journal. It keeps me from eating because I don't want to write that extra food in and add more calories to my day. For a week, write down the foods that you wanted to eat at night but didn't! When you add the calories up at the end of the week you'll be shocked at how many calories you saved by resisting this urge! It makes me feel empowered for the next week! It shows me how all those little things add up.

Excuse me. 0 fat Greek yogurt. And the 0 fat on has the most Protein, so adding that really helps. Its morning and I'm still kinda full. Well kinda :-)

It would be perfect. The crazy thing is we crave the things that God didn't make for our bodies' to process. Something wrong when we crave all the bad stuff and have little desire for the things that keep us healthy. So sad. Gotta do better. Its like it just hit me. Its really the devil.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
