Atkins for pre-surgical diet

Hi. This is my 1st post. I'm scheduled for Jan. 14. I'm very excited and a little nervous. Has anyone else done strict Atkins for their pre-surgical diet? I start tomorrow.

Yes, my doctor put me on it for 10 days prior to surgery. I actually started one month prior and list 14 lbs. It was a major reason I chose him because I didn't want to do liquid for two weeks pre-op.

I was wrong! My doctor put me on South Beach, not Atkins. Sorry for the mistake. Just saw my book and realized I gave you wrong info.

Thanks, Nanu! My surgeon doesn't actually use it, but didn't tell me not to :). When did you have your surgery?

I had surgery on August 8, 2012 and I did the liquid only protein diet for 2 weeks and now I'm living a low carb lifestyle with a huge focus on lean protein. I lost 22 pounds on my pre-op diet and I'm down 47 lbs since surgery.

New girl, I had my surgery 8/31/12. Try to stay with low carb. 213 before pre-op. surgery day 199. Today 170.8. Have been stuck here for a while
