what I look like?

While visiting family during Christmas, my cousin kept saying how good i looked, i said thank you, very politely. Then she looked at my husband and said "are you worried?" He replied this is nothing i cant handle...lol. but i was offended. Do they think after i lose the wt. I am going to start running around on him? My health was in jepardy not my marriage! This is not the first time that a family have stated this or something like that. I find i dont want to discuss my weight loss with them. Even at church i been getting unwanted attention. I want to be healthy not get google eyed.

I have these types of exchanges with family and friends all the time, with and without my wife present. It honestly makes me feel good, and my wife and I are secure enough in our marriage that we treat it as the hogwash that it is.

If my wife is present, I'll sometimes joke that she married way below her station, and this is just my way of catching up a little. :) Probably more truth to that than even I want to admit :)

Put it into perspective, enjoy the compliments, and just make sure that your husband is secure in knowing what you posted here.

Good luck to you!

Its funny and sad but my surgeon asked me at my first consult if I was in a strong marriage... was I ever thin in the marriage....basically preparring me that as I changed so might others perceptions... My husband and I discussed it and were prepared for it when it first happened. Beacause you will get oogled and unwanted advances from others. But as long as you are strong to your core and are firm in your responses you should be fine.

In fact now my husband will say...come on... lets go show you off. And he doesnt mean it in a nasty or unusual way... but I think he is just proud of me and wants to share that. He knows who he is going home with.... so do I.

As for your relatives and friends... I might pull them aside and explain how their comments make you uncomfortable and ask them to stop. You can do it in a nice way and if they dont get it... then maybe you dont need to associate with them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
