eating seems to be increasing

Recommended Posts

I'm at 9cc at the moment which the doctor says is quite high but lately I'm eating more than usual. 1 cup of food easily satisfied me but now I find it takes me between 2-3 cups to fill me up. That's a big change in my opinion at least. I'm wondering if there could be a leak or something? Band slipped? I would see the doctor but he's out for the holidays and new years.

Anyone experience this?

You're not supposed to be eating until you're full, only until you're satisfied. If you're eating until you're full then you're eating too much. The band isn't supposed to physically stop you from eating, either. This is exactly why it's so important to limit your meals to a cup or less of food, regardless of how much you can physically eat.

The band is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, but you have to do your part too.

I agree with everyone's insights

Just to add, I think its somewhat normal for your band to need tightening while you're in the losing stages (you lose fat around your esophagus too, so the band can feel looser).

So either way, ask your doc and see if you need a fill.

good luck!

That could be right I have lost about 10 kilos and yeah now I feel like I can eat more. Looks like I need to have more fills done.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
