doctor's goal is 160 pds, so BMI is good. I would like 190 pounds. I'm a little stronger at 190.

I'm 5'6" and my doc didn't give me a goal. I set an ultimate pie in the sky goal at 135, but I'm setting mini goals along the way. Next goal: 160. It's coming off very, very slow...but I'm headed in the right direction.

Haven't spoken to a doctor yet on it, but so far, after looking at mybodygallery.com I believe I'll aim to be around 170 as I am 5'4 and I love a fuller figure. I will try for a size 12-14 pant - I'm worried I'll be losing quite a bit in my bust, which I'm already bummed over it's decerease with my weight loss thus far.

I have had many goals...when I met the first, I kept on loosing so I set a second....and then surpassed that...

What I have learned, PROVIDING YOUR BAND IS FUNCTIONING AT PEAK AND NOT YOUR OWN EFFORTS..... is that your body will stop loosing when it feels it does not need to anymore.

In other words, your body will eventually adjust to where it should be, a normal FAT %, not a normal BMI. (although it could be)

I have often wondered what I would do, when the weight loss is finished....do I get a un fil?

the answer is no, this is a new life style, with new eating habits, and you will return to "Normal", then continue there....forever!

Just like we all got fat from a lifestyle of eating too much, and steadily growing heavier, this is a new lifestyle of eating "Normally", thanks to the band, and will steadily return to "NORMAL, then stop....all on it's own.

So setting goals may be fun, but it will continue providing you're living a life with the band and not by traditional dieting....

My doctor advised the mid range of the healthy weight range on the BMI scale was a good goal to set, which is around 66kgs (145)

I'm 5'7" and starting weight was 99kgs (220).

Happy to say the start of 2013 i will be in the healthy weight range with my current weight 75kg (165). This is the first time since I was a kid I can ever say I'm in the healthy weight range.

Whilst I'm rather happy to have made it this far, wearing size 10 clothes and having more energy than ever, I definitely think the remaining 9kgs is within sight and although it won't be as fast and as easy as the weight loss to date, I'm giving myself 6 months to get there, at a 1.5 kgs a month (around 3 pounds) as a realistic goal

I am 5'4 and my goal is 135-140. I am currently at 189 and people are asking me if I am done losing?? WTH? Umm....noooo, I'm not. Goodness, I'm pretty sure I am still considered obese at this point. I have found it is better to sometimes to just ignore all those other people's voices!

I'm not quite sure yet. I say 140, but when I was 135 my doctor said I looked gaunt and unwell. I didn't feel well either. I am 5'3 ? maybe a little taller and 51 years old. My surgery is scheduled for New Year's Eve so at this point my goal is anything less than what I weigh now and a smaller size pant!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
