  1. I had this...part of ish that you're not chewing right now and chewing naturally cleans your teeth .... all your doing is drinking liquid and its not getting anything nasty that might be sitting In your gums out...try getting a waterpic and adding a little mouthwash to the water
  2. My doctor said it was totally okay to take some pepto
  3. My husband cooked for 4 weeks. I didn't like it and god I felt bad for my 7 year old because in 10 years this is the first time dad has cooked.. but I made up for family time at the table with going on walks with him in the evenings while he rides his bike....he couldn't tell you what he ate for dinner last night but he talks to everyone about what he saw on our little walks together late at night
  4. So I was eating some lo mein today and didn't eat breakfast so by the time I sat down and ate at 2:30 I was starving. ( banded the 31st of july) well I forgot my rules and got stuck I freaked put for a moment but remembered reading a forum where someone said to bend at the waist and the food will come up...soooooo lucky it worked this time but wont be making it a habit. I did however feel officially banded for the first time today so Yey for me!
  5. Enjoy the good drugs while you have them!!!! Maybe bring your own pillows...I wish I did! Be prepared for them to wake u up every two hours to try to pee and walk. Ice chips the first day do you're going to feel thirsty. I was mad to get woken up every two hours but I missed the morphine when I got home!
  6. Sigh!!!!! Ok so being an addiction counselor you would think I'd have a better handle on things like addiction right? Well I needed to get lapband for my food addictions like a Coke addict needs detox. I quit smoking before my surgery...like 2 months I didn't smoke. The day they called me with a surgery date I picked up cigerettes and have been smoking ever since....again. I have smoked for 13 years and told myself after this I was going to stop. 9 days post-op and here I sit smoking. I'm so upset with myself..YES I know all the health risk of smoking..and yes I know the complications I can have smoking with the band. I can't wait to get a fill but I also fear it. I want to go back on Chantix because it really is the only thing I found that has ever helped me quit with success. It really makes you sick to your stomach though and is a pretty harsh drug with some serious side effects. Do I risk it to stop smoking? I need to talk to my PCP about this because my surgeon would KILL me if he knew. I think he would probably cut me open right there in the office and rip the band right out of me if I told him. Anyone gone back to smoking or started smoking after the band...did you take Chantix?
  7. It's that kind of attitude that makes women leave men when they loose weight. The whole thinking back over your journey after you loose weight and realizing how unsupportive your partner is can really change how you feel about yourself and your relationship. Men will be men they mostly like us barefoot and cooking for them in the kitchen. Unfortunately not even the ones closest to us have to be in our support team. I choose to kind of keep my other half out of it because I want to do this for me and not him (even though he'll eventually benifit from it I'm sure). Just tell him that you hope by the time you loose your weight you hope he won't have E.D. hehehe...seriously though take what you need from him to heart and let everything else come with a grain of salt. He'll either come around or he won't but you may feel more empowered at the end of the day knowing you didn't need his support to be healthy.
  8. I need to do this for me! I've been trying for years to get pregnant and it was so easy with my first when I was a size 12. I can't be the Lapband posterchild. I know I love the youtube videos but I can't devote that kind of time for everyone to be on this journey with me. This was a decision I made before I had surgery. As for people who ask. Im doing what I need to do to get pregnant with pcos.
  9. Im 7 days post op and mine really returned yesterday .... it sucks cause I could eat with no problems right now
  10. Which is better and has more protein. I know alot of people say dark is easier on the band.
  11. 5 days post op and finally can say I feel better today. Big difference from cussing the nurses out over pain meds on tuesday...dont get me started! I can say that moving around every hour and getting that gas out has helped sooooo much. I'm up to 32 oz of water today and had a good amount of protein today even though I'm still working on getting to 70. Yes I'm still sore.. yes I still can't bend over and touch my toes and it still takes a gentle touch to roll from one side to the other but I don't feel like the pain will never go away. I wanted to share this for all the people getting banded this week. And I still hold firm that this is better than having my gall bladder removed. I plan on even getting out of the house tomorrow. Good Luck to all of you getting banded this week.
  12. Jay robb dreamsicle or trutein any flavor
  13. I feel ur pain...take ur meds every 4 hours for awhile to stay on top of you pain..lots of pillows heating pads and hot showers...and of course make sure every hour even when ur sleeping to get up and move around for 10 or 15 minutes
  14. Im wearing a ballgown for my wedding dress but I want a long slim halter for my reception for my december 2013 wedding
