What happens when you don't get enough protein everyday?

I was banded Dec 3rd. I am having a real hard time getting 60 grams of protein in everyday. Does anyone know what happens when we do not get enough protein everyday? Thank you

Protein is essential to losing weight, so if your not getting enough protein it will be harder for you to drop pounds. Lack of protein can also cause your hair to thin and fall out. If your having a hard time getting in protein, the one thing I have found I can keep down post-op is "egg drop soup" lots of protein with chicken broth and egg! I can only have about 1/2 cup at a time though.
