I went to get a fill in Eagle,Idaho .She is with fillcentersusa and they don't have a flour machine but she tried for 45 minutes and couldn't get it.She said she had been told Dr.Sachez tends to put the band in at a angle and she thinks thats the problem anyway the bummer is it cost me $300 just to have her try she said there was no guarentee so I'm just out that money.I wrote aletter to Fillcenter but they never replied.:)

It seems to me that the fair thing would have been for that person to give you back at least half of your money. I hope fillcenterusa gives you some favorable options.

This is the 2nd complaint about fillcenterUSA that I've read in less than 24 hours. I think FuelMan had some problems with them as well. As memory serves......they charge like $299 for the initial and $75 for any fills after that, yes?

Anyway.........maybe we should be looking more into the better business bureau or some similar bureau for medical practice. What are the medical qualifications of the staff? How can they make such a broad statement about your particular surgeon?

Let's get the word out that maybe this fillcenterUSA isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Hi there,

I had a similar experience at a Fillcenter through fillcenterusa as well. I was told over the phone twice that they did have fluro and that they would charge $299 for my first visit/fill. Well, after the nurse got all of my patient information she informs me that she doesn't have fluro and that I still have to pay $299 even though she refused to even do a fill. She said that b/c I wasn't 6 weeks out *( I was 5) she would not do a fill but I still had to pay b/c it was technically my first visit.:faint: So I was very upset obviously and explained to her how unfair it is that i have to pay when I was lied to about what resources they had there, and that the whole reason for my visit was for a fill. Eventually she got back with me and said that she would speak to her manager and she could get a partial refund back. I don't know how much yet but I feel like at the most I should only be charged $75 for an office visit b/c that is all that I got. I would ask to speak to a manager. I definitely will never go to another fillcenterusa center. It is a scam. I hope that I get most of my money back and I would rather pay more somewhere else that is honest and reputable. Good luck! ~Liz

Hi everyone,

I just want to share with the group that we have finally found a

very dependable fill clinic that is close to anyone living in the South

East. Me and my wife Kelli drove up from Atlanta last Friday which

was only about a 3 hour drive and even though we could have made the

round trip in a day we decided to stay on over night and get out an

experience Nashville. This was Kelli's first fill since her surgery

back on December 27th. She has lost about 30 lbs now and she was

very excited about getting her first adjustment. They did the procedure

under Flourascopy "which required us to have to follow our nurse

over to a imaging center which was about 20 minutes further from the

clinic" but I am glad we did it this way so we could confirm 100%

where Kelli's access port is. They ended up only putting in .8 cc's

which I know does not sound like it was enough but at the time it

was all she could handle, any more and she just shut closed completely.

The whole procedure only took about 2 hours from the moment we

arrived.

This clinic is part of the group listed on the Fill Center USA

website and their prices are very reasonable at only $300.00 for your first

fill and $150.00 for each additional. The Flouroscopy was extra and

optional, but if you have insurance they will bill your insurance

company directly. We were told that they are very successfull with

getting the insurance to pay for the service, she mentioned that it

had something to do with how they coded it to get payed. Anyway I

feel very comfortable in recomending them for anyone local in Georgia,

Alabama, South Carolina, or the sourounding area. Debra Kleven was

super nice and made us feel very welcome. She even gave us her cell

phone number and told my wife if she experienced too much

restriction she would meet us back at the clinic on Saturday to make an

adjustment before we left to go back home. Here is the information on the clinic and the location address:

Lamplight Health Care Providers L.L.C

Dr. Winston Griner M.D., Debra Kleven MSN ACNP,

2603 Elm Hill Pike, Suite K

Nashville, TN 37214

Stephen and Kelli -- I know what you mean!!! I had my first fill form Debra yesterday and it was great!! The only difference was she picked me up from the airport and drove me to have my fluoroscopy and fill. I required 3cc I'm so glad I had it under fluoroscopy because of it being my first fill I'm not sure any one would have put that much in with out seeing anything less would not have giving me any restriction. Debra was so nice and helpful with all my questions. She stated my port was not hard to find and the next time she will be able to do it in the office if I wanted to. Since my insurance will pay for the fluoroscope I think I'm going to keep doing it that way hopefully it will cut down on the number of fills for me. I'm form SC and it was so worth the plane ticket and 299.00 for my first visit, next time it will be 155.00 and my plane ticket of around 200.00 that is still cheaper than getting a fill done here without fluoroscope!!! SO anyone thinking about a fill center go to Debra in Nashville TN she was great!!!!

Sorry but I have to momentarily hijack this thread to tell you about a loan officer named Patty Whack. One day a frog entered the bank and asked Patty Whack for a loan. Patty Whack asked the frog for collateral, so he pulled out a statue of Venus de Milo and offered it to the loan officer. Patty Whack explained to the frog that a statue of Venice de Milo did not constitute collateral, so Patty Whack called the manager over, who said, "It's a knickknack Patty Whack, give the frog a loan."

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I cant believe that a center called "fillcenterusa" wouldnt even have a fluroscope immediately available and ready for your appointment.. Maybe writing an agitated yet professional letter would help the situation. No way would they be taking three hundred from me without doing something to fix the issue -- especially since she knows your doctors banding style.

My insurance paid for the Fluro the doctors office she took me to filled it themselves so there was no charge for me :-) and Chabuttter the only Dr's that do fills in Columbia SC do not do them under Fluro and their charge is still 500.00 for a fill thats why I went with Fill Centers USA-- I love the extra help they offer as well. Ther book is great I only wish I would have received it sooner!!

Toni,

you might want to check out their web site for locations & 800 numbers.

Doesn't sound like fillcentersusa is very "patient friendly" to me. Do you have any other options in your area?

Robin in AZ:confused:

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
