1/2 a cup 3 times a day suggestions?

Im on my first week and we can eat a max of 3 meals a day, byt with half a cup of food. I need some menu varities. Eating junk food was to easy with no planning required. We arent allowed to supplement any shakes as soon as we are off our first week post-op. I think im already in the green zone i know the doc put some fluid in when he put the band in. Im not hungry at breakfast so i just have a coffee and that satisfies me. Any ideas would be great!!!! We arent allowed snacks, if we need a snack that means we might need an adjustment. Thanks

Did your dietitian not give you a food/meal plan?

I forgot to mention that i was on the 1st week of mushies. We werent lots of info for fluids stage but the mushies not so much and we didnt talk to the nutrionalist pre-op. As i can only have 1/2 a cup 3 times a day as a maximum im finding it tricky to come up with ideas at the moment stews barmixed and sauces added to mushed things. But i dont see the doc until 19/12 so it will be 3 weeks post-op. Perfect before chrissie, but being tradional aussie summer its cold roasts and salads so im ready for that.

I am on same as you. 3 half cup a day. I agree you really should set up an appointment with a nutritionist that works with your diet. For mushy foods i eat a lot of Beans, tuna chunk Light, canned chicken. It was suggested i could add Protein to sf pudding cup. Sometimes on mushy I eat instant mashed pot in broth mixed with lowfat cheese. Cottage cheese. If you have any questions please feel free to email me helyen88@yahoo.com. You can do it. Now a cup of food looks like a ton to me. take care.

Sorry forgot you can also do eggs and fish.

Dont forget to track and measure everything you eat.

Hey there. Thanks for your suggestions we have an appoitment with the nutriontalist about week 4-6 then at week 12. But did you ever go a day without eating? I dont know if it was because i had metamucil but that was before lunch so ive had that a bottle if water and 3 coffees and now being 2:30am im still not hungry! Before this than being in the red or yellow zone!

I don't know the answer to the zone question but start off by trying to eat something small first don't ever force it but it's very important that you get down solids. It is very unhealthy to not eat at all.

I tried one mouthful yesterday and i just got pain probley cos i wasnt hungry at all. But i had a couple of waves of peekish, but it went within 10 mins. But im seeing my doc on wednesday next week and metamucil is a fibre drink so i think it filled me up cos i didnt skull bottles of water down so im going to wait a couple of days before taking it again so if it was at least i can know why and lower the dose and drink more water with it.

Oh well. Have a great day!!

Instead of just hanving just coffee cos at breakfastvim not hungry i had up & go that has all the goodness and fibre and protein of wheat bix and milk. I know once im in week 2 we arent supposed to have fluids unless we have problems. I was hungry at lunch so to make up for yesterday i just had protein, chicken and cottege cheese and that has kept me satisfied. I think it was deffiently the metamucil. At least i found the cause
