No Restriction 2 Weeks Post Op

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and have moved up to more dense foods, I feel as though I have no restriction as I am still eating without that feeling of fullness that people talk about and am afraid there is something wrong with my band. I lost some weight immediately post op, as expected from the swelling. But now 2 weeks in I am getting hungry, to the point my stomach rumbles! My BMI was under the average candidate (27) I'm wondering If this has anything to do with it. I'm

Scared in going to put on weight that I lost within the next 2 weeks before my first visit back with the sugeon!

Did you get a fill at surgery time? A lot of doctors don't fill until a month after surgery. No fill = no restriction. To ease your mind, call you dr on Monday. And good luck!

I was band on11/2 and I'm fine I don't get hungry but I do get full fast and I can go with out eating like about 4or5 hours or longer but I'll eat something before I go workout and I come back and still no hungry but before I got band I can eat like crazy

I am 2.5 months post op and no restriction.............you may not get restriction for a few months until you have had a few fills. Some people never need fills, some it takes 7-8 months until they reach restriction.

Welcome to "Bandster Hell"!

That time between surgery and having enough fill to reach the green zone.

The time you have to fight with everything you have to stick to LB eating rules.

Do you really want to lose weight? Then you can do this! I know I do and I will!

Best wishes!

It took me over 6 months to get restriction. For now is this is a willpower diet. My doctor wants me to measure out 3 ounces of Protein and eat low fat veggies until satisfied. 1 thing you'll need to learn is also what is satisfied verses full. As mentioned this time is called bandster hell. Also at your weight/ BMI your weight loss is going to be slower.

Honey, you are way too early to feel restriction. Just follow the doctors orders and you will be fine. Starting off at BMI of 27 will likely make you loss very slow. I would think maybe only 1 pound a week.

Not to be a downer but I would expect your going to lose less than 1 pound per week. I stay under 1000 calories a day and do an hour of cardio 7 days a week and I was less than 1 pound per week.

I was banded 11-12 and I have no restrictions either. I get my first fill jan. 3. So I am following a 1000 cal diet and eating small bites, and chewing, chewing , chewing. I have lost 31 lbs as of this morning. it's working, but not what I expected. Hoping my fill helps some! Hang in there!

I was banded Nov 19 also. I started my pre op at 274 and weighed 253 this morning. Since healing a little more I also feel very little restriction, but am sticking to no more than 1000 calories a day.

I can't wait to get to mashies cause I could just hurl THINKING about Protein shakes. I am curious, though. Are you really allowed to have that much cheese so soon? I love cheese (a lot) but you had 5 servings of it (not including what was in the soup) and I would just be concerned I would get really constipated. And gassy. But maybe that's just how my body reacts to them. Btw, I LOVE Laughing Cow wedges in my egg substitutes. I am a huge fan of Hungry Girl recipes.

i understand the (no restriction feeling). because after banding, since we are so swollen, we get that (sensation of being full). that being said, with me at 6 months post op today and no fills, i am making myself eat my allotted amount and eating/thinking like i am at full restriction. def mind over matter. hang in there.

Hi I am new to this site, but I was also banded on 11/19 and I too feel no restrictions, I feel like I can eat anything I want, I feel hungry all the time. Not sure if I got filled before I left the hospital but I think I need a fill now. How soon after banding can we get a fill. I lost 14 pounds and have gained 1, so I am getting very nervous.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
