I use MyFitnessPal app on my phone and it tracks everything for me. Keep my calories at 1000 , Protein at least 60gr,

Like to keep track of sodium too, for my B/P.

I am 100% low carb/high Protein so I don't bother to count calories. Have done this regime for many years, so am pretty sure of what I can and cannot eat. Losing weight, slowly but steadily. 2nd fill scheduled for next week.

I use the Lose It App to count calories. I would recommend counting because you will be surprised how the calories add up. When you get to that place where you reach a plateau you can look at the calories and amount of Protein you are eating and adjust accordingly

During my losing stage I counted every morsel I put in my mouth except toothpaste. I averaged 1000 calories each day. I didnt trust myself to just wing it. I did however eat 3 small meals daily.... but certainly not of "anything". 3 small meals of chocolate cake wouldnt have lost me 216 lbs and I would have had a severe Vitamin deficiency.

As I am learning to maintain I have stopped tracking and eyeball it but after 2 years I am very comfortable in my choices. However I use my phone ap to look up calorie counts all the time.

I don't count calories. I kept a journal for a few weeks about 7 months ago and I was consuming around 1200-1400 a day. So, I know as long as I buy the right foods and consume the right foods I'll stay within those parameters and continue to lose weight.

I don't count calories. I just know I need a lot of Protein and Water. Plus, I try to stay away from the slider foods. I will admit I've been bad over Thanksgiving and need to eat more balanced meals :o .

I was told by my doctor that counting calories was useless because of the amount of food I will eat will never add up to much! After 1 yr 5 months I continue to lose weight, and like everybody sometimes I plateu

I do not count calories, Though if I pick up a new Protein I do look. I can not see how 1/2 to 3/4 cup of protein and a few veggies can add up to many CALS and thats what I eat 3 times a day. I have been on so many diets I can almost tell by sniffing how fattening it is.

Just curious how people eat 1400 /1500 cals a day in that portion , what do they eat?

Thanks everyone, I have done many diets in the past so I know exactly what to do. My portions are probably smaller now I would lose so much more on the diets than with the band consuming less food, can't work it out!

I'm happy because ive been told I won't put the weight back on like with past diets.

I'm not giving up trying because I've seen it work for so many others, I just hope It does for me to.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
