Almost 3 Weeks Out And I Feel Wonderful!!!

Recommended Posts

Wow what a difference from just almost 3 weeks ago! I have lost 13 pounds and im getting compliments and lovin it :) when i first got banded, i did not know what i had done to myself. I was weak, in pain, and the liquids were going to kill me...or so i thought. Everyone told me it would get better but at the time, it was hard to believe but it really has. I start solids this wednesday and although im a little scared, im excited to actually eat real food again. I cant wait to have a piece of chicken :) Anyway...i just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who has helped me and answered my questions and made me feel so much better when i really thought i wouldnt make it through the liquid stage. You guys are the best!!

Xoxo

Just be careful with that chicken! Make sure it's moist, take tiny bites and chew, chew, chew! The last thing you want on your first day on solids is any kind of problem!

You should copy and save your post from today. In the future you will see many newbies posting how discouraged they are and are so concerned they have done the wrong thing to be banded. Your words will provide some guidance and validation to many that they are on the right track and that they just need to stay the course.

Congrats.

Is it better to make chicken salad with low fat mayo instead to make it moist? I take it BBQ chicken or broiled chicken breast is out of the question...

I was wondering about the chicken salad as well. I boiled some chicken pre-surgery and put it in the freezer. I figured that way, I already had some cooked and ready.

I eat baked chicken all the time. I do add salsa or veggie spaghetti sauce. I have BBQ chicken breast on occasion. 3 oz no skin. Yes I do weigh all Protein.< /p>

Excellent!! Got any advice for a soon to be newbie bandster? I'd love to get similar results! Is that 13lbs from surgery or including pre op diet?

Keep up the good work!!

I wasnt required to do a pre op diet so the 13 lbs is since surgery. My advice would be to just hang in there! It will be hard the first couple of weeks but i promise it does get better. Best of luck to you :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
