Taking Suggestions for NEW LBT Features!

Recommended Posts

I have loved this site. It has been such a great blessing to me and my family (DH, DS and I are all banded.) I love some of the new changes that have been made lately. The changes have made the site much more user friendly. Now for the things that I would like to see:

--Tickers that are LBT specific

--Forums age specific like teens, 20s, 30s, 40s

--Forums weightloss specific:: Dotties has a group for those who need to lose 50 pounds, 100 pounds, etc. Those are great because you get to know people who are in the same boat you are in. LOL

--The ability to revise a post. I hate when I post something then relize that something is wrong.

I think that's about all. Thanks so much for all the hard work that goes into this site. :)

Hope this hasn't been suggested or already here...

I'm looking for a file section w/ examples of Medical Necessity letters.

Would hate for my MD to add the wrong thing to a letter.

You can revise a post. Just click on "edit" and when you get a page full of smilies, click on "Advanced." Sometimes extra characters are added that you need to delete and if you had a lot of formatting in your post, it can get messy but most of the time, it's easy.

It would be nice to have a section for pregnant bandsters or women that have the band and plan to be pregnant. I plan to have more kids and worry/wonder about what will happen with my band during pregnancy, delivery, breast feedding, etc. Will I need an unfill? Will I gain weight? etc, etc

I would really like to be able to change the forum skin, like we used to be able to do. The ghost arm that the chick at the top has bugs me to no end.

How about a place where people can record their own personal journey without the thread being interrupted by other bandsters congratulating or moving away from the subject in question. It would be best if only the 'diary owner' was able to write in it. It would need a form to fill in so that each bandster diary starts with the same information, in the same order, so that readers could see at a glance everything they need to know. They would be able to refer back to it as they need to / or as the story unfolds. Apart from this being great for all of us to read, it will also be a cathartic exercise.

I would like it if we could add friends. There are several people on these forums that are around the same "point" in their journey as me and I would like to keep up with them. I have a hard time remembering names and being able to add friends would be nice.

Thank you Mr NG. I agree that it is a blog - but with a bit of a difference in that a standard form could be used to begin it, so that the relevant details are not ommitted. Is there a place already on this forum to do a 'blog' then? Perhaps I have missed it somewhere. x

When you click on someone's name, one of the choices is to add him or her to your "Buddy List." You can access your Buddy List through the UserCP.

I just want to say thank you for creating LBT and keeping it going. I have found that all the changes I've made in life were sucessful because I had a group or web group to help. I think you do a great job already on this talk forum, any improvements are icing on the cake.

I find it hard to be to critical of this site because it has been a blessing for me and I appreciate the effort that goes on behind the scenes to manage this effort. I also appreciate not getting spammed and pop ups on every time I visit so thank you.

The only issue I have as a newbie is that there are some threads that are hundreds and hundreds of pages long. It seems that these longer threads have lost the original focus and have turned into chat rooms. Don't get me wrong not everything I post is a factual Gem but when you are told as a newbie to read a thread that is laced with hundreds of "I love my bug" and "got my bug today YeeHaw" it gets tiresome.

I gotta agree! There's nothing wrong with folks banding together but I wish the title of the thread could be changed and they can continue their chat. Meanwhile, a new thread can be started on the original topic. Or maybe more moderation could keep threads on topics and the new group of friends could start over elsewhere.

I really think it's great that these online friendships form and keep going over months and even years. But when it happens on a support thread with a specific topic, it can be a turn-off to the rest of us.

Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
