Your Last Supper......

Recommended Posts

My family & I went to Dimassi's Mediterranean Grill in Houston for what would become my "Last Supper". I had a small greek salad, roasted cauliflower, 2 chunks of lean, marinated chicken, grilled tomatoes, hummus with 1/2 of a pita and a tiny sliver of baklava. The next morning, before Breakfast, I got the call with my surgery date, so I started my pre-op diet that day.

As it turned out, other than the baklava & pita, I can easily have that other stuff post-band, lol. So even though I felt a little gyped on my "Last Supper" after I found out it WAS my LAST SUPPER, I'm actually pretty darn proud of myself for the healthier choices I made. I will say, it was nice to walk out and not feel stuffed to the rim. I can't wait to be used to that feeling! :)

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting or commenting- but I just had my last supper and my last Dr Pepper-- I actually told the can - we are never ever ever getting back together! Like ever! (Hearing it from Taylor swift sounds better) anyway- my hubby took me to Outback for a blue cheese crumb crusted filet & pecan / blue cheese chopped salad--- yummy heaven! So tomorrow starts my 2 week pre-op diet- I've got my Protein mix and blender ready for morning. I've learned a lot the last couple weeks - thank you all for sharing your advice, support and experiences!

Hi skinnymoo, welcome to the club! I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet now and it's getting easier each day. I thought saying goodbye to my DP was going to be so hard, lol. I had switched to sweet tea with an occasional DP over the past month. I cut my sugar to almost nothing in the sweet tea after starting the pre-op diet (artificial sweeteners give me a worse headache than having no caffeine). Now I'm drinking just plain ol' tea... no sugar at all. I guess over the days of cutting out all sugar (other than the tea) it became way too sweet for me. I was thinking that I might have one last small DP (to officially say goodbye) at some point over the next week, but I really don't think I need it now.

Glad you're here, good luck!

p.s. I DID read your words in Taylor Swift's voice, btw. :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
