Mashed Potatoes

Is it wrong to want mashed potatoes at 1 week post op? Im bored with broth jello pudding and popcicles. I am eating 4 oz - 8 oz a day plus liquids. Is this wrong? Help me with ideas of what to eat clear / full liquids?

Potatoes have NO protein, of course you know that. Do you have protein shakes? The post-op period is very important for your success. Try to stick with the rules. If you can't now, just know that it doesn't get easier if you keep pushing the limits.

It won't be long, hang in there.

I have until Nov 16th. The time seems to be going by quick. I've made some really good homemade Soups and they keep me happy.

Try Campbell's soup pureed. It has more taste. Also soft scrambled eggs. Just take very small bites and chew lots! Call you dietician for advice.

I made egg drop soup! Also get cream of chicken soup and thin it down

This is what I am allowed for two weeks until I see my doctor. Just got banded today.

I just wanted to say hang in there! in my opinion being on just liquids suck however it is sort of a rights of passage. Stay strong and you will get through this. Then you will realize you can do anything!

Try changing to a diffrent protine shake that's what I did I'm bearly 22 days out and my Dr let's me eat now I feel great!! I couldn't get soups down first week I was shakey my doc reconended pineapple juice and said it wks like a clense in the mornings!! I have sum recepies for protine shakes let me know if u want a couple pineApple juice with vanilla powder protine is pretty good ice cold!!

I made some bomb cheesy cauliflower soup, blended of course, sweet potato and ham (strained) soup, I add things to the full liquids for flavor aka cottage cheese with taco sauce, ricotta cheese to soups, fudgsicles have saved my sugar cravings, toamto soup in moderation for salts....this is all of your Dr approves. I do alot of protein shakes though, lost a total of 13 lbs in 2 weeks with fluid retention from surgery and starting my cycle as well! Good luck hope you get lots of ideas.
