In Need Of A "unconventional" Mentor? ???

Recommended Posts

Don't adjust your screen, you read this correctly, I was banded in 2006 and have successfully lost, and kept off 170 lbs....and outside of the liquid diet, I discovered a way to still enjoy the same exact foods that got me to enormous proportions, and shed the exta me... I'm more then happy to take anyone who honestly knows eating "Healthy " isn't parts of your vocabulary, as a pupil, mentee, minion, you get the idea, be warned, I'm without a doubt, a few sammiches shy of a picnic, a few volts dim of a watt, in laymen terms, Crazy! So if your curious, serious, and want a Fun mentor, look no further... you have been forewarned!

Yes definitely, I think you are funny and straight up, so that would be great if you have any wisdom you can share! I think the eating part is okay for me, just need to work on the veggies and fruits more as sticking to under 60 carbs a day puts those a little out of reach since they are pretty high except for a few exceptions (love asparagus and raw spinach). And if you have any tricks to get my lazy a** off this couch, that would be nice, lol.

NY here too! Would definitely love to hear your secrets to success! My nutritionist and I are on the same page...diets don't work. Skinny people are skinny because they know when to stop! Will not be counting carbs, calories, sugars, etc. Had surgery 10/11/12 and feeling fantastic so far. Drives me nuts on here to read "you can't eat this, don't eat that"...didn't get fat eating "A" cheeseburger. Got fat eating a double quarter pounder and a large fries washed down with a chocolate shake!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
