Advice For Before And After Tummy Tuck And Arm Lift

Recommended Posts

That is good to know. Tummy and breasts are my first priority' date=' depending on cost I would do arms too. Trying to swing this on a law student budget- eek. Perhaps I will do arms at the same time and save legs. We shall see, but very good to know-- thank you![/quote']

I'm located in Oregon I got it done in Portland. Next are my arms that's 6, 000

I'm in Houston Texas.... I had my Tummy Tuck 3 weeks ago and it was $7800.... I will be doing my butt/thigh lift in March and it will cost $7000. That will compete my lower body lift with a circumferential scar all the way around me.

I got my last drain removed yesterday, yay! Still wearing the binder for a couple more weeks and can start going to the gym again next week.

Congrats on getting your last drain removed. I luckily only had two drains and had them taken our after 6 days. You will feel so much better without them...also, you are allowed to go to the gym? How long ago did you have surgery? I was told that at 6 weeks post op I can start cardio, but I can't really do much more until the three month mark...

Just like getting the band, all our docs are so different! My PS told me I could start light cardio at 4 weeks.....4 more days, I can't wait!!! BUT he said start back light as I feel comfortable, don't over-exert myself, stop if I feel any discomfort, and don't use my arms for anything (because of my breast reduction/lift).

SP1587....you might want to look into seeing if insurance will cover any of it. Because of my weight loss & excessive hanging skin, my insurance covered the breast reduction/lift and the panniculectomy (abd skin removal), I got my port changed to a low profile port at the same time, so all I had to pay was for the difference of the panni & TT. :D

Very exciting!!

I had my tt and breast lift and augmentation on dec 18. Mine was also out patient... And I was under for 5 hrs. I had no major pain just some discomfort. I only took a pain pill the first day and the 2nd night. I never walked too hunched over and did not use a recliner. Which is a good thing since I didn't have one...lol

Overall it was much less pain then I expected and the results are better than I imagined!

I agree about the pain. If I had just gotten the TT and the arm lift, I probably wouldn't have been on the pain medication for as long as I was. I was taking my pain medication every 4 hours for the first week or so, and then I lessened it during the second week. The Lipo of my flanks really gave me a beating. My entire back was one giant black and blue for the first week, and is still really tender. I am off the pain pills during the day, but because moving around at night is not comfortable (because of my back), I still take one before I go to bed. I too, though, am thrilled so far with my results!!

I have heard that lipo is painful... My dr was going to do lipo with the tt but said there wasn't anything to take out so now I guess I am glad it worked out that way. Sure hope you feel better soon!!

Thanks...I find that when I am up and about or just sitting/relaxing I'm okay. The only time I get really achey and uncomfortable is transitioning between positions. Which is why I only take the meds when I sleep.< /p>

I went ahead and scheduled my surgery for March! He doesn't think I will need my ab muscles tightened at all-- did any of you have this done? I haven't had any children, so I'm not sure if anyone else that hasn't yet either had to do their muscles?

I had my muscles tightened and I too have not yet had kids. My plastic surgeon didn't really give me the option. He said he would know whether it would need to be done (for the best results) once he was in the OR. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem for me, in the future, when I decide to have kids.

Very good to know- He said he would do it once he is in there if it needs to be. Part of me figures, hey, do it while you're in there haha.

Shelly Congratulations! How is your Tummy Tuck? I'd love to see pictures! I'd love to get the butt lift but I've had 3 surgeries in 8 months. I'm ready to take a break. I have some weight to lose in my legs and butt before I even think about that. I'd love to keep up with you. Email me. Keelinehoppes@yahoo.com.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
