Protein shakes aren't necessary to lose weight, burning more calories than you consume is. Also, the band isn't supposed to stop you from eating anything. It's your job to control your portions, not the band's job.

Are you sticking to a cup or less of food per meal?

Do you count calories?

Do you get in all your Protein?

Do you get any exercise?

These are the things that will help you lose weight.

The fill will not kick in that fast. First you have to heal from it then it sometimes takes 10 to kick in. You need more then 1 fill to get to restriction. I had to do shakes for 2 days afyer fill . I used body fortress and mix it with either milk or fat free yorget

unjury (find it online) makes a flavorless Protein powder that u can add to almost anything. The first couple months after surgery, I added it to Soups, yogurt, pudding, OJ, almost anything! And it's got lotso protein!

Good luck!

Unjury is the best!!! the unflavored is good because you can add to anything. I add to my coffee every morning and sometimes have a chocolate shake for lunch. Give it a try, I am sure that you will like it. Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
