Stationary Bike And Shake Weight?

Recommended Posts

I am 8 days post op and tolerating walking just fine. I am wanting some variations I am nervous about stationary bike because I have really short arms and moving the handles with the bike may stretch me too far. Will doing only the leg portion be ok or is it a waste? Also I have used the shake weight for about a month prior to surgery and would like to get started back with it but wondering if it would be too much shaking. If anyone else have used it you should know the entire upper body gyrates. I must do it alone because I'm pretty sure one of these times my chest is going To smack me in the face and it will be embarrassing. Any other post op exercise that is good to keep up on? I'm so worried about having that dumpy butt look I have seen a lot of bypass people with it and don't know if banders are the same any suggestions for hips lower belly pouch butt area?

I use 2 times a week treadmill and my air resistance stationary bike. The bike is much easier on my worn out knees. I use Futuro knee wraps while exercising. Also use leg weights on my ankles when I walk.

make sure you check with your dr. Mine didn't want me doing anything other than walking for at least a month post op. After that I had no restrictions, but it just depends on how you are healing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
