Question: Can "my Time Of Month" Or A Highly Charged/emotional Situation Earlier In The Day Affect The Tightness Of My Band? (Btw, No Fill Yet!)

I have not had a fill, but seem to have experienced a "stuck" episode. From reading g what others experience I'm quite sure it was a mild episode, but one nonetheless. As I was eating chicken tonight I had this tightening in my chest. It felt like I swallowed a massive bite of Peanut Butter that didn't want to pass. It was uncomfortable enough to stop me from finishing my dinner, but I wouldn't call my experience tonight painful, just very unpleasant. Anyway...

My question goes back to wondering if my menstrual cycle plays into this at all. Or, could it have been from some stress I experienced earlier in the day. It was an I tense stress (fight or flight situation). Thoughts??

Interesting. I would not have guessed a banx without a fill would also be temperamental -(I was told by my surgeon's nurse that i have nothing inside my band yet). Anyway, good to know. Thanks elcee!

Yes! Its been my experience.. its temperamental!! It has a mind and personality of its own! That's why we name them!! Mine's name is Towanda!!!! Sometimes she will take something NO PROBLEM.. three days later I try to eat the same thing.... NO WAY!!! (whispering... I think she's crazy) :)

Yes, both can effect. If you cry you diaphram (sp?) gets a work out when we sniffle - ugly cry- that cause an up and down movement of the GI area around our stomach so that can cause so aggrivation around your band area that can cause a little swelling.

Most women complain of band tightness around or during their period. This is due to Water retention in the cells that again causes swelling.

Aren't our bodies grand? :)

Thanks! Learn something new everyday... makes more sense now.

I agree with Elcee, both can do havoc on your band. But then again it can get tight for absolutely no reason also. They can be very temperamental for no reason. You will get used to it and begin to accept it for what it is.
