When you click on "Follow this topic" is what makes it go to your email account. Click on "unfollow this topic" and it should stop

    You can also go into your settings and make some adjustments from your profile. Mine used to do that and it drove me crazy, I just have mine set to notify me of specific events or peoples responses.

    3. Adjust your preference.
